NRB directs BFIs to freeze accounts of transport entrepreneurs supporting syndicate
May 6, 2018-The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) on Sunday directed banks and financial institutions to freeze the bank accounts of various transport entrepreneurs who stood in favour of transport syndicate.
The central bank, after correspondence from the Finance Ministry, directed banks and financial institutions to freeze the accounts of transport committees running syndicates.
The Ministry of Home Affairs along with Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport on Friday had decided to freeze bank accounts of various transport committees running syndicates in the wake of protests launched by supporters of transport cartels.
