Feb 16, 2018-The shooting of the upcoming social drama Jai Bholey commenced in Jhapa this week. The film’s shooting was inaugurated with a scene featuring actors Swastima Khadka, Saugat Malla, and Khagendra Lamichhane, three of the film’s lead actors.
Jai Bholey, written by Khagendra Lamichhane, marks a comeback for director Ashok Sharma, after his 2006 film Mitini. According to producers, Jai Bholey tells the story of an emotional attachment between two male friends.
The producers said that the film will release by the upcoming Dashain festival, with the Day of the Fulpati set as the tentative release date. The film is slated to clash with the third iteration of Chhakka Panja, which will release on the same day as well.
Speaking about his comeback after a decade-long hiatus, director Sharma said, “I have been away from filmmaking for the past 12 years. I look forward to coming back with renewed vigour.”
Alongside Lamichhane, Khadka and Malla, Jai Bholey features actors Salon Basnet and Buddhi Tamang, among others, with the legendary actress Basundhara Bhusal slated to be seen in a cameo role.
