Current political system is partial federalism: MK Nepal
Feb 8, 2018-CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has remarked that the current political system being implemented in the country is “partial federalism”.
“The provinces and local levels should not function in an arbitrary manner by curtailing authority of the centre,” said Nepal, talking to journalists in Kalali on Thursday, “Centre will monitor everything.” He claimed that it was needless to worry about the viability of federalism in terms of necessary expenses.
In a different context, the former prime minister said that there is no doubt about the unification between CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre). The merger will be done soon after both sides agree on ideological and structural issues. He said, although the unification was intended before the government formation, some technical problems pushed it for a later date. “Now the government formation and unification process will go together,” he said.
