Snowfall in upper Dolpa, Manang


Dec 6, 2017-The high altitude areas in Dolpa and Manang districts witnessed snowfall on Tuesday morning, affecting daily life.

Places like Dho, Chharka, Tinje, Bhijer, Mukot, Saldang and Phoksundo received snow as high as three feet. The snowfall greatly affected the people descending towards the lower region after participating in the first phase of the federal parliament and provincial assembly elections held on November 26.

The farming community, however, were pleased with the snowfall. They expect a better harvest of winter crops because of the snowfall. Similarly, the upper reaches of Manang, including Chame, Manang, Bhraka and Tanki, also witnessed snowfall on Tuesday. Kailash Babu Tiwari, the acting district chief of Annapurna Conservation Area Project, said the region was covered in snow as high as three inches. People

trekking in the region were affected by the snowfall, he added.
