May 15, 2018-More than 50 people were injured when a bus they were travelling in overturned at Parikauli Chowk in Jaleshwor Municipality along Bhitthamod-Janakpur road section in Mahottari on Tuesday.
According to SP Kuber Kadayet of the District Police Office, Mahottari, the bus (Ja 1 Kha) was heading towards Janakpur from Bhitthamod of Mahottari when the incident occurred due to overspeed.
Of the injured, 13 are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Jaleshwor and the remaining at the Janakpur Zonal Hospital.
Among the injured, seven are in critical condition and some of the injured have returned home after the treatment.
The bus was carrying more than 100 passengers. Bus driver and assistant bus driver fled the scene after the incident.
Nepal Army and Nepal Police personnel with the help locals had carried out rescue operation at the incident site. RSS
