Wanted lawmaker Nawaraj Silwal spotted in Parliament building

Mar 3, 2018-Former Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Nepal Police and newly-elected lawmaker Nawaraj Silwal, who is in the most wanted list of police for a document forgery case, was spotted in the premises of Parliament building, New Baneshwor, on Saturday.

Silwal had reached the Parliament building to attend a joint Parliamentary Party meeting of the CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre) summoned to train members of the Parliament in view of the federal parliament meeting slated for Monday.

It has been learnt that the training will be given on the issue of parliamentary decorum as there are many new lawmakers from both the parties.

He had reached the building at around 11 am today.

Police have been searching for Silwal after the Supreme Court (SC) ordered the government to initiate action against Silwal after concluding that he had forged the performance appraisal reports he had submitted to the apex court seeking his appointment as the chief of Nepal Police.

On January 2, the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Office had issued an arrest warrant against Silwal, who is elected as member of the House of Representative from UML ticket, to investigate into a case involving document forgery.

After failing to locate Silwal, Nepal Police Headquarters had issued internal circulars to all the police offices of seven federal states directing to search him.
