Right to parental property essential for women: Minister Pokharel
Mar 8, 2018-Defence Minister Ishwor Pokharel has said that discrimination against women would not end until they get rights to parental property and lineage as men.
He also emphasised common understanding between women and men for ending such discrimination, and holistic advancement and development of women.
Minister Pokharel was speaking at a photo exhibition organised by the Nepal Cultural Museum (NCM) on the occasion of the 108th International Women's Day, 2018, in the Capital on Thursday.
He also praised and thanked the organiser for setting up a photo exhibition relating to women that he said would help record history of women.
The week-long exhibition has 200 pictures of luminaries from various walks of life which include Bhrikuti, Lord Buddha, Maya Devi, President Bidya Devi Bhandari, social worker Anuradha Koirala and former Chief Justice Shushila Karki among others. RSS
