Feb 22, 2018-Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal (SSFN) has hinted at the possibility of joining the new government under CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.
The party said that it would participate in the Oli-led government if the latter agreed to amend the constitution to address its key demand, reported National News Agency (RSS).
Though most of the meetings held earlier regarding participating in the government ended in a positive note, the Madhes-based party has not decided to join the government yet.
While a meeting held between the two sides to discuss joining the government concluded positively on Thursday, the SSFN said that the trustworthy environment would be formed if the government moved ahead taking the issue of constitution amendment as a political issue.
SSFN Chairman Upendra Yadav was of the opinion that his party would join the government if PM Oli made a public remark endorsing the issue of constitution amendment.
“The initial discussion regarding joining the government had started from yesterday. Amendment to the constitution is out major agenda. We will support the government if it ensures us to address our demand,” Chairman Yadav said.
“We will participate in the government if the latter is loyal to the issue raised by us, otherwise we will support the government from outside,” leader Yadav said while responding to a query.
