No one has rights to undermine left alliance: leader Basnet
Feb 2, 2018-CPN (Maoist Centre) leader and former Home Minister Shakti Bahadur Basnet has said that no one has any rights to undermine the left alliance.
Speaking at a programme organised in Kathmandu on Friday, leader Basnet said that no one has any rights to criticise the left alliance, which has mustered two-thirds majority in the recently held parliamentary and provincial elections, under any pretext.
“Unification of the left parties—CPN-UML and Maoist Centre—is the necessity of the country and people’s wish,” he said. Leader Basnet’s remarks come at a time when the process for the unification of UML and Maoist Centre is underway.
Saying that those who cannot accept the coexistence of each other are against the merger, Basnet urged everyone to facilitate the unification of left parties. He also said that unification is not just a gathering of few people but is the assimilation of ideologies, sentiments and perception.
