Feb 5, 2018-The first ever Provincial Assembly meeting of Province 1 will be held on Monday.
The meeting will take place in Biratnagar at 1 pm today.
The historic provincial assemblies in provinces 2, 5, 6 and 7 were held on Sunday while the meeting of province 3 was held on February 1.
Preparations for first Provincial Assembly meeting of province 1 have almost been completed.
There are altogether 93 members in province 1.
According to the Parliament Secretariat, all the House of Representatives members, former speaker, former deputy speaker, former ministers and Chief and Deputy Chief at the District Coordination Committee have been invited for the meeting.
It has been learnt that senior-most member of the province Om Prakash Sarabagi will preside over the first meeting.
The meeting is expected to make public the election calendar for the election of Speaker.
Nonetheless, the parties have already reached an agreement to hold the election of speaker in province 1 on February 12.
