Feb 10, 2018-Nepali Congress has approved the ‘Province Assembly Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party Statute-2074 BS’ in order to elect the party leaders in all provinces. An emergency meeting of the central working committee on Friday took a decision, said party leader Bal Krishna Khand.
Some minor changes were made to the statutes at the meeting before approving it.
According to the NC, the statute was passed immediately as it was necessary to form Parliamentary Party working Committee in the provinces after the elections for provincial assembly was held for the first time in the country as per the constitution.
Top leaders as well as Central Working Committee (CWC) members of the party were present at the meeting chaired by Prime Minister and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba.
According to CWC member Govinda Bhattari after forming the new government, the party will hold a review meeting on the poll debacle in recently held Provincial and Federal Assemblies.
No other topics were discussed on Friday, said Bhattarai. The meeting of the party’s Mahasamiti will be called during the review meeting, he added. The Mahasamiti is the higher policy making body of the party that takes political, organizational and other required decisions.
