Jan 7, 2018-Three people have lost their lives after catching fire while warming themselves up in bonfire in southern plains.
In Dhanusha, Gita Devi Das, 40, of Mithilabari Municipality-7 and Shyama Devi Mandal, 55, of Kamala Municipality-9, died after catching fire. They died while undergoing treatment at Janakpur Zonal Hospital, SP Chakra Bahadur Singh informed. Likewise, 60-year-old Sarojpari Nepali of Madhuban Municipality-3 in Bardiya district died due to fire. She breathed her last in Bheri Zonal Hospital on Saturday evening. Two postpartum mothers have also sustained burn injuries in Bardiya and Surkhet districts. Anisha Khadka, 24, of Madhuban Municipality-3 in Bardiya was drying clothes when she caught the fire, her husband Umesh Gyawali said. Likewise, Radhika Buda, 25, of Birendra Municipality-3 in Surkhet also suffered burn injuries in similar incident.
Both the postpartum mothers are receiving treatment at Bheri Zonal Hospital in Nepalgunj, Banke. Physicians involved in their treatment said their condition is critical as over 20 percent of their body has been burnt in the fire.
