Jan 10, 2018-A baby died of seasonal flu in Junichande Rural Municipality of Jajarkot on Monday, putting the flu death toll in the district to 10 in two weeks.
Dr Pawan Shakya said Ram Bahadur Nepali’s two-month-old son Bhupindra was the latest victim of flu outbreak in different parts of the district. The District Health Office (DHO) has deployed health teams to the affected areas to control the epidemic. “We have already treated more than 800 patients in the last four days,” said Dr Shakya. More than 2,000 people have contracted flu in Junichande Rural Municipality. According to health workers, people in Juni, Chande, Kapra, Badkule, Karkigaun, Syala, Majkot, Alimaugana, Dandakot, Parale, Kortang and Kalli areas have been affected the most.
Chief of the DHO Ram Bahadur Nepali said health workers were visiting every household in the affected areas to provide treatment.
