‘UML for loktantra that people want’
Dec 3, 2017-CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has claimed that the incumbent Cabinet led by Sher Bahadur Deuba was the last government of the Nepali Congress.
At an election rally in Duhabi, Sunsari on Saturday, Oli warned the police administration not to be loyal to the ruling party. “Police and administration need to be loyal to the constitution and laws,” said Oli, responding to UML candidate Bhagawati Chaudhary’s concerns over possible vote rigging and booth capture by the governing parties.
On the occasion, the UML chief asserted that the left alliance would form governments at the centre as well as in the provinces. Oli claimed that his party would practise a loktantra (democracy) that people want. At another programme in Gaighat, Udayapur, Oli said some anti-election elements had launched attacks on candidates as they could not foil the elections. Stressing the importance of the left alliance for ensuring political stability in the country, the former prime minister pledged to increase the elderly allowance to Rs5,000 from the current Rs2,000 if a leftist government is formed.
