Health workers reach Mugu villages to contain viral fever


Dec 7, 2017-The Mugu District Public Health Office (DPHO) has mobilised a medical team to the viral fever-affected areas in remote Khatyad Rural Municipality.

According to Gyan Singh Budha, auxiliary health worker, said the team has already administered treatment to 181 viral fever patients in Khatyad. A majority of the patients are old people, he said. A specialist team from the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division has also reached the affected areas to collect samples for a lab test. Fifteen people have died of viral fever in places like Seri Satbad, Khale Kawa, Paikhugaun, Sukadhik and Righa villages of Khatyad since mid-October.

The Health Ministry had instructed the DPHO to send its medical team to the affected areas after the epidemic was reported by various newspapers.
