Exhibit on Nepali heritage in Chengdu

Dec 21, 2017-Anyone walking through the alleyways in the popular tourist city of Chengdu, China will notice a series of photographs that highlight the cultural and natural vistas of Nepal.

The six-day-long open exhibition, which features photographs from different Nepali and Chinese photographers, is organised jointly by Nepal Tourism Board and the Nepali Embassy in Beijing, in collaboration with the municipal authorities of Chengdu. The event was possible, in part, because of the sisterly relationship that was initiated last year between the Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the city of Chengdu.

The relationship between the two cities opens avenues for the exchange of information related to urban planning and development, and the hosting of programmes such as the ongoing photo exhibition.

Chengdu is considered an important hub in bringing Chinese tourist to Nepal. Air China and Sichuan Airlines have daily flights from Chengdu to Kathmandu.

During the inauguration of the exhibition, Nepali Ambassador to China Lalmani Paudyal said that the exhibition will help in further promoting Nepal as a tourist destination in China. The exhibit also saw presence of representatives from Nepal Tourism Board and several Nepali photographers.
