Dec 27, 2017-A fire at Bhalupahad Ratamata Community Forest in Putalibazar Municipality, Syangja, that began from Tuesday is yet to be brought under control.
Putalibazar Municipality ward-4 Chairman Om Bahadur Khadka informed that the fire that started from 10 am yesterday is yet to be contained until Wednesday afternoon and despite huge loss in community forest no human casualties have been reported so far. According to Chairman Khadka, municipality chief, District Forest Officer, Nepal Police, Nepal Army personnel and locals are trying to bring the fire under control. He further informed that the efforts to douse the fire have been an uphill battle since the fire site is at an inclined surface with thick bushes. Meanwhile, the cause of fire is yet to be determined.
