CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate Sharma wins by highest margin
Dec 9, 2017-CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate Rukum Sharma has been elected to federal parliament from West Rukum. He trounced his rival candidate of Nepali Congress (NC) Gopalji Jang Shahi by a whopping 18,743 votes.
Sharma secured 34,442 votes against Shahi's 15,659. This is the highest winning margin so far in the federal parliamentary elections. Of the total 55,300 votes cast, 51915 votes were valid.
This is the third election battle between Sharma and Shahi.
